SturisomaSturisoma Panamense has several common names like Twig / whiptail Catfish, Regal / Royal Farlowella Catfish / whiptail. Like other types of oral suction, Sturisoma are herbivores who like to eat the algae and aquatic plants. This fish likes a woody environment interspersed with rocks.

Because Sturisoma has a long body with a long tail, hence the arrangement of decor (plants, wood, stone) are given enough space for her silence, both grounded and hung dying (wood with a surface width). This fish will compete with other fish (even against its own kind) in terms of food fight by moving parts of his body sideways or by moving parts of the body behind him as whip. Sturisoma live in groups, even among fellow social nature of its kind is not good. Sturisoma males have hair-like grass on the right side and the left part of his head, while females do not. But this can only be seen when they are large enough, approximately 12 cm (from tip of tail to head).
SturisomaIf you want to be maintained with other fish, should not be kept with fish that like to bite the fins of other fish.
